The acclaimed siblings Lana and Andy Wachowski, who were responsible for the classic Matrix trilogy of the 2000s, may be writing a new trilogy.
According to Latino Review, the creators of the franchise are already submitting potential ideas to Warner Bros. One of these ideas involves the emergence of the Matrix, but for now nothing is defined regarding the premise; it is only known that parallel storylines – such as the Matrix animations – will not be taken into consideration.
After the end of the trilogy, the Wachowskis directed two films for Warner Bros., without the same success: Speed Racer and Cloud Atlas. Their next film, Jupiter Ascending, arrives in theaters on August 7th.
