Meikyuu no Shiori: Film from the director of Macross gets a new trailer

Legendary director Shoji Kawamori, known for iconic works such as Macross, has revealed the new trailer for his highly anticipated film Meikyuu no Shiori (Shiori's Labyrinth). The video features new scenes and confirms the participation of big names in the cast: Sho Hayami, Maaya Sakamoto , and Tomokazu Sugita.

The film features SUZUKA (from the group Atarashii Gakkou no Leaders) as the voice of Shiori. She also performs the main theme, "Sailor, Sail On,"composed by yonkey, who is also responsible for the soundtrack.

Sho Hayami plays Shiori's father, a strict but kind-hearted man. Maaya Sakamoto voices her conciliatory mother, while Tomokazu Sugita portrays Professor Tsukasa, a quirky mentor.

Meikyuu no Shiori Synopsis

The story follows Shiori Maezawa, an ordinary student who ends up trapped inside her own smartphone. In the digital labyrinth, she encounters Komori, an adorable stamp rabbit, and an alternate version of herself: an ambitious "Shiori"determined to conquer "a billion likes" in the real world. Alongside her is the young entrepreneur Kagami Suguru, whose mysterious phrase—"I'm just creating a new world"—foreshadows a dark plan.

The film is an original production by Sanzigen, with a screenplay by Taichi Hashimoto and character designs by Risa Ebata. It is scheduled for release on January 1 , 2026 in Japanese theaters.
