The anime adaptation of Mercedes and the Waning Moon: The Dungeoneering Feats of a Discarded Vampire Aristocrat ( Kaketa Tsuki no Mercedes ) revealed new details this Wednesday. In addition to confirming the television format, the production released the first promotional video, a new visual, the main staff, and a premiere date set for January 2027.

The protagonist Mercedes Grunewald will be voiced by Anna Nagase. The anime adapts the light novel written by Fire Head, published by TO Books since 2021 with illustrations by KeG. The work originally began as a web novel on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in 2018.
Synopsis
Born the daughter of a concubine in a decaying noble house, Mercedes does not have an easy life. To support her mother, she decides to face the dangers of a vast underground labyrinth. Instead of eliminating the creatures she encounters, Mercedes chooses to tame them, forming an army of loyal monsters as she advances through increasingly dangerous layers.
Kunihisa Sugishima, known for his work on Strike Witches and Beyblade: Metal Fury , will direct . Studio Teddy will produce the animation, while Jun Kumagai will supervise the series' scripts. Nami Shōyama will design the characters, with a soundtrack composed by RON and Shūhei Mutsuki.
