The highly anticipated Metaphor: ReFantazio has already reached the milestone of 1 million copies sold in just one day, becoming the fastest-selling Atlus Persona 3 Reload , which reached 1 million sales in a week.
Released on October 11, 2024, the Persona climbed the Steam most-played lists, with 42,992 simultaneous players . This number is expected to increase even further over the weekend.
Along with the sales announcement, Atlus also released a special illustration by character designer Shigenori Soejima to commemorate the success.
In addition to the PC version, Metaphor: ReFantazio was released for PS4, PS5 , and Xbox Series X and S , but player numbers for those platforms have not been disclosed. Due to high demand, sales are expected to reach 2 million soon.
Created by the same developers of Persona 3, 4, and 5 , Metaphor: ReFantazio takes place in the United Kingdom of Euchronia, a medieval fantasy setting. The player ultimately assumes the role of a young orphan who embarks on a journey across the kingdom in search of claiming the throne.
