Michael B. Jordan meets the artist of the One-Punch Man manga
Check it out:
While visiting Japan for the Creed 3 premiere, Michael B. Jordan had the chance to meet the One-Punch Man illustrator in person. The actor also managed to snap some photos with Yusuke Murata and chat with him during the meeting.
Murata said he'd been following Jordan's film work and that Creed 3 had a significant impact on him. The actor then explained how happy he was to meet the manga artist he admires and how One-Punch Man appealed to him.
"I'm heavily influenced by One-Punch Man, but I feel it's a story that portrays a hero's journey. Several characters face trials and portray the process of growth, and I also feel love and compassion. The main character, Saitama, is in a different place because he's reached his peak strength. The difference between his exterior and interior (the point at which his strength doesn't transmit to the surroundings) is also compelling."
Synopsis:
The plot revolves around Saitama, an ordinary man who decides to train to become a superhero, setting out to save people from monsters and other threats that arise. He has become so strong that he often ends his fights in seconds, landing just one punch. However, due to his overwhelming strength, Saitama has become bored and is constantly trying to find stronger opponents who can stand toe-to-toe with him.
The first season premiered in 2015, directed by Shingo Natsume directed by Madhouse (Hunter x Hunter). The second season premiered in January 2019, containing 12 episodes with animation by JCStaff (Toradora!), and a third season is already in production.
