Players assume the role of a hunter sent to mysterious lands forbidden to investigate the “white spectrum”, an enigmatic creature that threatens the region. For the first time in the history of the series, the game has a complete voice acting in Portuguese in Brazil, providing an even more immersive experience. In addition, the title has a robust progression system, allowing players to improve their equipment and develop new strategies to face the colossal beasts that inhabit the world.
Monster Hunter Wilds's overwhelming release and Steam record
In less than 24 hours, Monster Hunter Wilds has proven to be a smash hit. Steam version exceeded the mark of 1 million simultaneous players, surpassing the numbers of previous releases of the franchise. For comparison, Monster Hunter Rise and Monster Hunter World did not exceed 400,000 players in the same period. Impressively, Marco was reached just eight hours after the official debut.
Although data from PlayStation and Xbox versions have not yet been released, the starting performance of the game points to a great commercial success. Capcom has already confirmed that it will continue to expand Wilds with various updates and events throughout the year.
Innovative mechanics and colossal predators
Monster Hunter Wilds' gameplay maintains the franchise's strategic essence, but brings significant improvements. The new focus mode allows players to attack more accurately, targeting vulnerable points of monsters to cause critical damage. On the other hand, inhibitor attacks enable counterattacks using their own onslaught of enemies, while power duels put hunters and creatures on direct clashes, requiring rapid reflexes and mastery of weapons.
The fauna of forbidden land is rich and diverse. In addition to classic monsters such as Rathalos, the game features new imposing creatures such as Rey Dau, Uth Duna and Nu Udra. These beasts arise during the weather, a climate phenomenon that transforms the environment and alters creatures behavior. This dynamic system makes each hunt unique, requiring players to adapt their tactics according to changes in the ecosystem.
Another highlight is Seikret, an agile mount that facilitates the exploitation of the territory. In addition to enabling fast displacement, Seikret helps with resource collection and enables the use of the shooter, a useful tool for tracking monsters and performing surprise attacks.
