live-action Mugen Shinshi film Yousuke Takahashi 's mystery manga has revealed its first teaser and premiered in early summer.
Synopsis
The story is set in Japan during the early Showa era, following detective Mamiya Mugen and his butler Alucard as they solve bizarre supernatural mysteries together. The film will adapt the "Ningyou Jigoku" (loosely translated: Hell Doll) arc from the Mugen Shinshi Kaiki-hen manga.
Additionally, Takahashi released Mugen Shinshi Kaiki-hen in Tokuma Shoten's Medium magazine in 1984. In Kaiki-hen, Takashi drew the protagonist Mamiya as a young adult.
Staff
Misako Unakami is directing the film and also co-writing the script and editing. Takashi Suganuma is credited as screenwriter along with Kazuhiro Kokage and Ayumi Sato. Kentaro Suzuki is composing the soundtrack. The film's running time is slated for 70-80 minutes.
The film project was funded through a crowdfunding campaign in 2015, which raised 1,450,000 yen (approximately 73,566.22 reais) for the production of the film.
Finally, Takahashi published the original manga in Asahi Sorama 's Manga Shonen in 1981, spawning several spin-off manga and novels since then. Furthermore, the manga also inspired the anime Mugen Shinshi: Bouken Katsugeki-hen
