The popular spin-off of Boku no Hero Academia (My Hero Academia), about illegal heroes, had its anime adaptation confirmed this weekend.

Therefore, Vigilante Boku no Hero Academia (Vigilante: Boku no Hero Academia Illegals) will premiere in 2025 with animation by BONES FILM. It will be directed by Kenichi Suzuki and written by Yōsuke Kuroda.

Synopsis:

Koichi Haimawari failed to become an official hero, so he uses his modest quirk to perform good deeds in his free time. One day, an unexpected encounter with some local thugs leads him to team up with two other unlikely heroes. Neither of them quite knows what they're doing, but they have the courage – or perhaps just recklessness – to try. However, they soon discover that fighting evil requires more than just bravery…

Furuhashi and Court launched the manga in Shonen Jump GIGA in August 2016. It was later relaunched on the Shonen Jump+ in December of the same year. Viz Media began publishing the work digitally in English in August 2017 and is also releasing physical versions. Additionally, MANGA Plus makes the manga available digitally in English.
