If you're a fan of Jujutsu Kaisen, you've probably already fallen in love with one of the series' most charismatic characters: Nanami Kento. So, in this post we'll revisit 15 of Nanami's best moments that made him stand out as one of the most incredible characters in the entire Jujutsu Kaisen !
Nanami's best moments – Top 15

15. Everyone kisses Gojo's ass, but Nanami doesn't
Satoru Gojo is the center of attention in Jujutsu Kaisen , admired by the students and even more so by the more experienced sorcerers, despite having to put up with Gojo's ego and childish attitudes. On the other hand, Nanami has a more serious and pragmatic approach to life. The dynamic between them is fun precisely because they are opposites in their perspectives and behaviors.
14. He achieved the record for most consecutive Black Flashes
Following Yuta Okkotsu's story, the film introduced fans to the real Suguru Geto for the first time. It also gave viewers a demonstration of some of the other sorcerer's abilities during the Kyoto disaster. In this scene, he was absolutely epic, and although it was a chaotic fight, he landed 4 consecutive Black Flashes against the curses he was battling.
13. Nanami proves she's more like Gojo than he'd admit
Not much is known about how he became a Jujutsu Sorcerer, except that he was recruited to the Jujutsu Academy as a first-year student alongside Yu Haibara when Gojo and Geto were second-year students. One of the ironic things about Nanami at the time was that, just like Gojo, he wasn't exactly happy about going on missions. It was an inconvenient chore, and he complained about it a lot.
12. His first meeting with Mahito was epic
Their initial fight is an intense back-and-forth battle that serves as the first display of the sorcerer's true strength in the series. Both Mahito and Nanami reveal the extent of their cursed techniques to each other for the first time as well, making it all the more exciting to watch as they battle back and forth.
11. Nanami explains her philosophy of life
Thus, one of the moments that most reveals Nanami's personality happens in the first few minutes of her introduction to the series. Itadori is shocked by how serious Nanami is as a person, and how high the standard he sets for his students from the start. In response, Nanami tells Yuji, “I don’t praise or belittle anyone. I follow the facts and judge based on that: it’s who I am. There was a time when I mistakenly believed that society functioned the same way.”

10. He and Itadori understand each other for the first time
During their first encounter with Mahito's henchmen, Nanami and Itadori learn a valuable lesson from each other. Just as they are about to deliver the decisive blows to their opponents, Nanami realizes that the "curses" they were fighting were, in fact, transfigured humans all along. This is a pivotal moment between mentor and student, as it truly reveals the depth of Itadori's empathy.
9. The Jujutsu Wizard sucks, and he's not afraid to say so
The first time he meets Yuji Itadori, Nanami doesn't mince words about his opinion of the world of Jujutsu Sorcery. He tells Itadori, "I also went to your school, and there I learned one thing: Jujutsu Sorcerers are terrible!" After attending Jujutsu Academy, Nanami went to work for a large corporation, which he quickly learned was also terrible.
08. He clocks in overtime
When confronting Mahito for the first time, Nanami recognizes that it's a fight that will last much longer than expected. Coming from a corporate environment, Nanami has too much respect for her own time to allow the fight to continue past six o'clock. Furthermore, later in the story we see that overtime is one of her most powerful techniques.
7. Nanami and Yuji overwhelm Mahito with a combined attack
Although Yuji's ability to strike his opponent's soul directly made him a natural foe for Mahito, the latter still proved too powerful in the long run. Just as Mahito was about to deliver a final blow to Yuji, Nanami appeared out of nowhere to block Mahito's attack.
6. What would Nanami do in this situation?
Nanami's time in Jujutsu Kaisen seems relatively short, especially now that the manga has ended. That said, he left a legacy of positivity in his wake that even he didn't expect. In one of Ino's memories, he was having lunch with Nanami sometime before the Shibuya Incident, and it's obvious from the start that he greatly admired the older man. He wanted Nanami's recommendation to become a Grade One sorcerer, a recommendation that Nanami didn't believe he actually needed.

05. The fight against Dagon
Despite Dagon's initial appearance, he was far stronger than he seemed. Working together with Naobito and Maki, Nanami managed to gain the upper hand at first, but things took a terrible turn from there.
04. His final moments bring him an unexpected peace
There is no relief in being a Jujutsu sorcerer. Each day is an arduous battle with no end in sight. Suguru Geto never shared his grim thoughts about what awaited them at the end when Haibara died, but it's a feeling most sorcerers have probably considered more than once. So much death, so much violence, and much of it senseless, the life they lead breeds bitterness, anger, resentment, and it's not easy for any of them to imagine the end being any kind of liberation.
03. His last words to Yuji will remain eternal
Nanami's final moments before being killed by Mahito were some of the most special in the series so far. All Nanami wanted from life was to retire and live peacefully on an island somewhere, so his vision of walking on the beach while fighting Mahito's minions serves to show how he truly found peace as a Sorcerer in the end.
02. Haruta's defeat is noteworthy
One of Nanami's best moments in season 2 , by far, was his complete domination over Haruta during the Shibuya Incident. It showed how advanced Nanami is as a sorcerer; and how terribly powerful he can become when he's angry.
01. He recalls the moment he stopped running away
Finally, while he is trapped within Mahito's Domain Expansion, Nanami has no choice but to accept his fate. In what he perceives as his final moments, Nanami reflects on the events that led him to return to Jujutsu school after working a corporate-paid job for two years.
