In a last-minute announcement, DreamWorks revealed that it will release Need for Speed in 3D. The film is scheduled to premiere on March 14th, giving the studio only 35 days from now to complete the conversion.
Although it's possible they could delay the release due to the conversion, the studio has already spent over $4 million promoting the film and its release date during the Super Bowl.
In recent years, studios have adopted a more cautious stance regarding conversions, following the poor results of Clash of the Titans and The Last Airbender in 2010.
