In November 2021, it was confirmed that Iñaki Godoy would play Monkey D. Luffy in the live-action adaptation. The announcement was made through a series of "wanted posters" featuring the actors who will play the series' main cast, including Godoy himself.
Additionally, other cast members include Mackenyu as Zoro, Taz Skylar as Sanji, Emily Rudd as Nami, and Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp.
This isn't the first time Godoy has met the Straw Hat captain. Just three weeks ago, Godoy had the honor of meeting Mayumi Tanaka, the voice actress for Luffy himself.
Finally, the live-action adaptation of One Piece will premiere on Netflix on August 31st. What did you think of Luffy being featured on the cover of Shonen Jump?
