Synopsis:
Yoshiki and Hikaru are two teenagers who live in a small rural town in Japan. Despite having opposite personalities and very different interests, their friendship is deep and sincere. However, one fateful winter day, Hikaru suffers a fatal injury while hiking alone in the mountains. Before passing away, he is found by a mysterious supernatural entity that consumes him, taking on his physical form.
Therefore, the manga written and illustrated by Mokumokuren , gained serialization on the Kadokawa Shoten Young Up website in August 2021. Mokumokuren conceived The Summer Hikaru Died for the first time while studying for the exams and later began posting drawings on Twitter, which led the editorial department of Young Ace up to approach Mokumokuren to serialize the manga via the Young Ace Up website.
