Netflix has finally revealed the first teaser for the second season of the live-action One Piece , highlighting the debut of the beloved Tony Tony Chopper .

The crew's young doctor will be played by Mikaela Hoover , who not only provides the voice but also participates in the facial capture. As announced, the new season will arrive on the platform in 2026, putting an end to the mystery surrounding Chopper's presence.

The new journey with Chopper goes all the way to the end of Drum Island

Previously, in August 2024, Eiichiro Oda himself confirmed that the next chapter of the series would adapt the events of Loguetown through the end of Drum Island . Since then, fans have been eagerly awaiting official images of the crew's mascot. Although a preview of the character was released in September of that year, his full appearance has only just been revealed.

Oda also shared a special message to celebrate the moment, as is customary with major franchise announcements. According to him, the new season is poised to exceed all expectations.

New cast and behind-the-scenes surprise

Additionally, Netflix has confirmed more than 20 new characters in the plot. Among the highlights are Crocodile, Vivi, and Nico Robin , as well as Rigo Sanchez as Dragon , Yonda Thomas as Igaram , and Sophia Anne Caruso as Miss Goldenweek .

According to the manga creator, the casting was “perfect,” bringing even more depth to the adaptation.

Production changes and future plans

However, something unexpected happened: showrunner Matt Owens announced his departure from the production. He explained the decision as a necessary break to focus on his mental health after the pressure of filming.

Although Owens has left the project, actor Joe Manganiello —cast as Mr. O (Crocodile)—has confirmed that filming for Season 3 will begin later this year. So, the One Piece live-action universe is moving forward.
