The teaser revealed that the series will feature numerous references that fans of the games will immediately recognize, as well as a soundtrack heavily inspired by classic Castlevania.

The film is produced by Adi Shankar (Dredd, The Grey) and is scheduled to premiere on July 7th. Director Shankar based the story on the game Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse, distributed in Japan by Konami in 1989.

Synopsis of Castlevania:

The story takes place in 1476, when Dracula dominates all of Europe. Three important characters can join Trevor on his mission: Sypha Belnades, a young priestess with various magical powers who disguises herself as a man until the end of the game; Grant DaNasty, an agile pirate with the ability to climb walls and ceilings; and finally Alucard, Dracula's son, a dhampir with the abilities to shoot fireballs and transform into a bat. The game's ending varies depending on which character helps Trevor destroy Dracula.

Finally, the work would have a "dark and satirical" tone, influenced by anime such as Akira, Ghost in the Shell, and Ninja Scroll.
