I'm a technology enthusiast and a lover of anime, manga, and games. The vast majority of anime I enjoy belong to the Shounen demographic.

The highly anticipated premiere of Netflix's live-action One Piece series is just a month away. As the series prepares to sail the global seas, Captain Luffy from both the manga and the live-action adaptation are on the cover of this week's Weekly Shonen Jump .

Thus, the cover of the 34th edition of the magazine shows the two Luffys side by side, with the manga Luffy wrapping one of his arms around Iñaki Godoy, the actor who plays Luffy in the live-action version.

In November 2021, it was confirmed that Iñaki Godoy would play Monkey D. Luffy in the live-action adaptation. The announcement was made through a series of "wanted posters" showing the actors who will play the main cast of the series, including Godoy himself.

In addition, other cast members include Mackenyu as Zoro, Taz Skylar as Sanji, Emily Rudd as Nami, and Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp.

This is not the first time Godoy has met the Straw Hat captain. Just three weeks ago, Godoy had the honor of meeting Mayumi Tanaka, Luffy's own voice actress.

Finally, the live-action adaptation of One Piece will premiere on Netflix on August 31st. What did you think of Luffy being featured on the cover of Shonen Jump?
