Netoge no Yome wa Onna no Ko ja nai to Omotta? (I Thought My Online Game Wife Wasn't A Girl?) is getting an anime adaptation, according to information from Kadokawa's website. The light novel is by author Shibai Kineko and illustrator Hisasi.

The story follows Hideki Nishimura, who develops his first crush on a character in an online game. He discovers that behind the scenes is a male player known as "Nekama" (a male player pretending to be a girl). One day, another female character confesses her love for him, and her player, Ako Tamaki, turns out to be a beautiful girl. However, he soon discovers that she has a serious communication problem, unable to distinguish between reality and the online world.

The light novel was launched in 2013, and Kadokawa released the 8th volume this month.
