Capcom has revealed a new trailer for Ace Attorney 5 , a title that marks the triumphant return of Phoenix Wright to the courtroom — now with 3D graphics and a new defense partner.
The game will be released exclusively in Japan on July 25th, being the first in the franchise developed specifically for the Nintendo 3DS . Among the main new features, in addition to the more dynamic and realistic scenarios, are the three-dimensional character models, which replace the classic 2D sprites.
New mechanics and brand new characters
Phoenix Wright now has the support of Kokone Kizuki , a young lawyer who brings a unique style of argumentation. However, Apollo Justice , a character familiar to fans, appears visibly dejected, promising a significant emotional arc.
Furthermore, the setting resembles interactive dioramas, which enhances immersion in the investigations and trials. These updates certainly modernize the series and make good use of the 3DS hardware.
Launch and expectations in the West
While the Japanese prepare for the launch with DLC , Western fans are still awaiting confirmation. For now, Capcom is focusing on releasing other titles here, such as Remember Me and Lost Planet 3 , scheduled for June and August, respectively.
