A new anime adaptation based on the light novel (novels with illustration) “ Mahoka koko no Rettosei ” Translation (The Irregular at Magic School). The project was announced this Sunday at the Dengeki Bunko Festival 2013. Director Manabu Ono (Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere, Saki Episode of Side A) is in charge of direction and studio MADHOUSE takes over the entire animation project.

The story follows the world where magic is not a fairy tale. In the spring, the College of Magic is affiliated with the Private University of Magic, but the magic school announces the two best students, “Bloom” and his replacement, “Weed”.
Twin brothers Miyuki and Tatsuya Shiba are chosen as Bloom and Weed, respectively. Miyuki is given the title Bloom because of her incredible grades, while Tatsuya is given the title Weed because of his incredibly low grades. From the moment the two brothers entered the elite school, the establishment's peaceful days turned into chaos.
