Written by Yashichiro Takahashi, Shakugan no Shana will soon receive a new story arc. This is confirmed by information released in the issue of "Dengeki Bunko" magazine released in Japan.
Shakugan no Shana follows a supernatural theme centered on Sakai Yuji, an ordinary boy who finds himself embroiled in an ancient conflict between forces. In the process, he befriends a female fighter of the Balance Forces and names her "Shana."
Shakugan no Shana incorporates fantasy and slice-of-life elements into its plot.
The manga adaptation spawned three anime , a four-episode OVA series, an animated film, and a single-episode OVA series. A video game for the PlayStation 2 was released in March 2006, and a Nintendo DS adaptation followed in March 2007.
