franchise Digimon is about to begin. The renowned Japanese magazine V Jump announced that Bandai Namco and Toei Animation studio are developing Digimon Universe: Appli Monsters, an ambitious project that goes far beyond a simple anime.

What's coming next with the new Digimon project?

Firstly, the project includes a new animated series, a brand new game , and a full line of licensed products. With a premiere scheduled for the end of 2016, this new approach promises to attract both veteran fans and a new generation of viewers.

Series, game, and products come together

The premise of Digimon Universe: Appli Monsters is to connect the digital and real worlds through creatures created from apps, called "AppliMonsters." This innovative idea opens up space for more contemporary stories, reflecting the everyday use of technology by young people around the world.

The company scheduled the big reveal for June 9, 2016, during that year's edition of the International Tokyo Toy Show, one of the largest toy events in Japan.

The franchise remains active with new games and movies

Finally, it's worth remembering that the franchise remains active: fans have been able to watch six Digimon Adventure tri. films, which expand the original universe. In addition, Bandai Namco released the game Digimon World: Next Order for PS Vita on March 17, 2016, further expanding the content for fans of the series.
