Evangelion will get a new animated short film exclusively for EVANGELION:30+, an event celebrating the franchise's 30th anniversary . The production will feature Asuka the central character and will be shown only at the venue , once a day, during the three days of the festival.

The event takes place from February 21st to 23rd, 2026 , at the Yokohama Arena , bringing together exhibitions, concerts, panels, and special presentations. Meanwhile, the short film will be projected onto a giant 18m x 15m LED screen , guaranteeing a unique cinematic experience for the audience.

The project features planning, scriptwriting, and overall supervision by Hideaki Anno . Naoyuki Asano will direct, with creative oversight from veteran series figures. However, story details remain under wraps, further heightening the anticipation.
On the other hand, access to the short film in Japan requires specific STAGE AREA or the ALL AREA Pass , the latter of which is already sold out. Therefore, this is a truly limited and historic screening for fans.
