North American licensing company Sentai Filmworks announced on Wednesday 1/22 that it has licensed the anime Wizard Barristers: Benmashi Cecil . The company will start the series digitally with a video release included. Currently, the website Crunchyroll streams the series in parallel with Japan.
The story takes place in Tokyo, in the year 2018, where there are normal human beings and those who can use magic. As a result, there are laws against the use of these powers, so a “magic court” was created that exists to preside over legal proceedings regarding the misuse of these powers.
In these cases, “ Benmashi ” or wizardbarristers defend those who use magic. The anime follows the character Cecil , the youngest Benmashi in history, and his associates.
