Ghost in the Shell Synopsis:
The story takes place in the 21st century, the line between humans and machines becomes increasingly blurred, with people dependent on mechanical implants and robots integrating human tissue. However, when Major Kusanagi follows the digital trail of one such hacker, the Puppeteer, she finds herself in a world beyond information and technology, where she questions the very essence of consciousness and the human soul.
Production IG released the Ghost in the Shell films in 1995 followed by the 2004 sequel 'Innocence', as well as the Stand Alone Complex anime series in 2002. In 2013, the OVA prequel Ghost in the Shell: Arise was released. Finally, in April 2017, the series received a live-action adaptation, starring Scarlett Johansson.
