The cover of the February issue of Square Enix 's GFantasy magazine is announcing that production of a new Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler) anime series has been greenlit and appears to be in the works.
Just a reminder that the live-action film adaptation will be released on Saturday, along with volume 18, which is being published on the same day.
The manga was launched by Square Enix in 2006 and already has 16 volumes, with 15 million copies in print, including various publications in 42 countries. The manga has inspired several anime series. In 2010 it received a TV series and won the award in the "Shonen Manga" category at the "Japan Expo" event in France. In 2011 it won the award for best manga at the "Animagic" event in Germany.
