Takara Tomy has announced the second collaboration between the Zoids and Monster Hunter franchises, featuring exclusive models based on two of the series' most iconic monsters: Tamamitsune and Rajang. Pre-orders began on March 6th, and the official release is scheduled for October 2025. The new Zoids are designed to replicate the appearance and movements of the original creatures, including new weapons and dynamic effects.

The concept behind this collaboration portrays the Zoids as creatures created to combat monsters roaming the Earth. Each model has been customized to mimic the camouflage and patterns of their respective monsters. With realistic movements and impressive design, the robots promise to please both veteran fans of the series and new collectors.

Gatling Fox Mitsune combines agility and heavy firepower

The Gatling Fox Mitsune is a Zoid inspired by the Tamamitsune, a dragon-otter-like monster known for its elegance and fluid attacks. With a large rotating cannon attached to its back, the robot adopts a strategic combat stance, utilizing both long-range attacks and its tail for slashing strikes.

The model features an advanced 3D sensor that allows it to detect its surroundings, improving its responsiveness in combat. Furthermore, its frontal armor has been redesigned to capture the essence of Tamamitsune, while the electric cannons on its shoulders and back allow it to fire in multiple directions. The fusion of the monster's agile style and the Zoid's firepower creates a unique piece for collectors.

The Gatling Fox Mitsune is about 36 cm long and requires a AAA battery to operate. Suitable for ages 15 and older, the model will retail for 6,600 yen (approximately US$220).

Knuckle Kong Seiten brings Rajang's fury to the Zoids

Inspired by the fearsome Rajang, the Knuckle Kong Seiten translates the monster's brute strength into a gorilla-shaped Zoid. Known for his aggression and speed, Rajang is one of Monster Hunter's most fearsome adversaries, and this model captures his essence with impressive mechanical details.

The robot features a golden coloration that intensifies when it enters "instinctive release" mode, simulating Rajang's fury by exposing its glowing inner parts. Its mechanical system allows it to perform the iconic "drumming" movement, realistically beating its fists against its chest. Furthermore, its new head armor includes an energy-conducting horn, while the blades attached to its back ensure versatile attacks.

When activated in its most powerful form, the Knuckle Kong Seiten concentrates electrical energy in its fists, unleashing devastating blows with lighting effects. The model measures approximately 17 cm tall and also uses an AAA battery to operate. Like the Gatling Fox Mitsune, its recommended age range is 15 and older, and it costs 6,600 yen.

Launch and where to buy

Both models have been available for pre-order since March 6th, with a release date scheduled for October 2025. Pre-orders are available at official Takara Tomy stores and select partners, such as the Monster Hunter portal.

The collaboration between Zoids and Monster Hunter continues to push the boundaries of creativity, offering fans models that combine the best of both franchises. With innovative mechanics and designs inspired by the original monsters, these Zoids promise to be one of the most anticipated releases of the year.
