During the Anime Expo that takes place between July 4th and 7th in Los Angeles, a banner outside the event caught people's attention.
Everything points to a new project from Katsuhiro Otomo , creator of the acclaimed anime Akira . It's not yet known exactly what the new film will be about, but the banner shows a sort of astronaut holding a skateboard, with the initials CCCP (from the former Soviet Union) on his helmet.
Katsuhiro Otomo is the author of Akira, a manga published in 1982 that later spawned a popular animated film in 1988. The story takes place in a dystopian world after the end of World War III. A gang leader known as Kaneda finds himself embroiled in a massive government operation when his best friend begins displaying telekinetic powers.
In Brazil, the work is published by JBC and already has two volumes.
An adaptation of Akira will also soon hit theaters .
