New Superman and Wonder Woman comic book causes controversy!

Hello, my name is Bruna and I'm passionate about the world of anime and manga. I hope to contribute to the AnimeNew website.

Tony Daniel 's statement, made when asked about the new Superman/Wonder Woman comic book series during a fan convention in Canada, caused problems for DC Comics , which received a flood of disdainful messages directed at the illustrator and the publication's strategy on its social media. The artist's comment that "for lack of a better example, something for the same target audience as Twilight" really upset fans. To try and justify himself, he said, "I was talking to editors Bobbie Chase and Bob Harras about writing a comic that had a little more romance and was a little sexier – something along the lines of Twilight. You know, millions of people went to the movies to see the series because it had those themes. Drama, love triangles, forbidden love, things like that. A month later they offered me Superman/Wonder Woman and I accepted immediately." "We'll have much more romance and drama than actual action," he added. The comment not only angered the publisher's mostly male fans but also some of the few female readers, who believe that this theme is offensive, since what they want are "good stories and not the same number of comics showing Superman's and Wonder Woman's backsides." Superman/Wonder Woman will be released in October in the US.
