The official website for Ghost in the Shell: Arise has just released a new teaser for the film. The plot, which remains undisclosed, will be a prequel to the film Ghost in the Shell: Arise, featuring a young Mokoto Kusanagi. The new anime based on Masamune Shirow's manga will be divided into four 50-minute parts. The first, titled Ghost Pain, hits Japanese theaters on June 22nd of this year. The Blu-ray and DVD release will take place on July 26th. Check out the video:
Ghost in the Shell: Arise is directed by Kazuchika Kise, written by Tow Ubukata, and composed by Cornelius. The Japanese voice cast includes Maaya Sakamoto (Mokoto Kusanagi), Kenichiro Matsuda (Batou), Yoji Ueda (Paz), Tarusuke Shingaki (Togusa), Tomoyuki Dan (Ishikawa), Takuro Nakakuni (Saito), Kazuya Nakai (Borma), and Ikkyu Juku (Daisuke Aramaki).
On March 13th, the manga adaptation based on the new film, titled Ghost in the Shell Arise: Sleepless Eye (Nemuranai Me no Otoko), began publishing in Young Magazine. The work features artwork by Takumi Ōyama and a story by Junichi Fujisaku.
