FX channel has released another teaser for its new vampire TV series, created by Guillermo del Toro , called The Strain . The series is a "vampire bioterrorism" thriller that tells the story of an outbreak in the US of a virus that kills or transforms those exposed into vampires.
The Strain will follow Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll) , head of the Centers for Disease Control in New York . He and his team are called in to investigate a mysterious viral outbreak with characteristics of an ancient strain of vampirism. As the virus spreads, Ephraim , his team, and a handful of ordinary New Yorkers must fight to protect the fate of humanity.
Del Toro will direct the series pilot, which will air in July .
