FX has released yet another teaser for its new vampire TV series, created by Guillermo del Toro , called The Strain The series is a “vampire bioterrorism” thriller that tells the story of an outbreak in the US of a virus that kills or turns those who are exposed into vampires.
The Strain will follow Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll) , head of the Center for Disease Control in New York . He and his team are called to investigate a mysterious viral outbreak with characteristics of an ancient strain of evil vampirism. With the virus spreading, Ephraim , his team, and a handful of ordinary New Yorkers must fight to protect the fate of humanity.
Del Toro will direct the pilot for the series, which will air in July .
