The long-awaited Tenchi Muyo series ! got news this week. Suzuhito Yasuda (Durarara!!, Yozakura Quartet) will be the new character designer for the series. Titled Ai: Tenchi Muyo! director Hiroshi Negishi who worked on the classic Tenchi Universe , Saber Marionette J returns to direct along with Masaki Kajishima, the original author of the series.
studio 's website highlights that production on the animation already at an advanced stage , and that the official website will open this summer.
The city of Takahashi in Okayama, Japan announced last month that it is sponsoring the new anime, which will possibly attract tourists to visit the place. The anime will be set in Takahashi, and plans to related merchandise and events . The series is scheduled to have 50 episodes of approximately five minutes each, published on the Tokyo MX starting in October .
AIC produced the first Tenchi Muyo !. The anime series and the projects that followed at the time. The franchise is celebrating its 20th anniversary with this new project.
