Tenchi Muyo! series gained new information this week. Suzuhito Yasuda (Durarara!!, Yozakura Quartet) will be the series' new character designer. Titled Ai: Tenchi Muyo!, director Hiroshi Negishi, who worked on the classic Tenchi Universe series , returns to direct alongside Masaki Kajishima, the original series' creator.
The studio highlights that production of the animation already at an advanced stage , and that the official website will open this summer.
The city of Takahashi in Okayama, Japan, announced last month that it is sponsoring the new anime, which will likely attract tourists to visit the area. The anime will be set in Takahashi, and there are plans to related merchandise and events . The series is scheduled to have 50 episodes of approximately five minutes each, Tokyo MX channel starting in October .
