Capcom has revealed a new trailer for Ace Attorney 5 Phoenix Wright 's triumphant return — now with 3D graphics and a new defense partner.
The game will be released exclusively in Japan on July 25th, being the first in the franchise developed specifically for the Nintendo 3DS . Among the main new features, in addition to more dynamic and realistic environments, are three-dimensional character models, which replace the classic 2D sprites.
New mechanics and new characters
Phoenix Wright now has the support of Kokone Kizuki , a young lawyer with a unique style of argument. However, Apollo Justice , a familiar character to fans, appears visibly dejected, promising a striking emotional arc.
Furthermore, the setting resembles interactive dioramas, which heightens immersion in the investigations and trials. These updates certainly modernize the series and make good use of the 3DS hardware.
Launch and expectations in the West
While the Japanese prepare for the launch with DLC , Western fans are still waiting for confirmation. For now, Capcom is focusing on the release of other titles here, such as Remember Me and Lost Planet 3 , scheduled for June and August, respectively.
