Puella Magi Madoka Magica website released Banner for the third film, and also revealed a new “magical girl” character. Kana Asumi as Nagisa Momoe, she will be the new magical girl with a childlike appearance. The site jokes that nothing is known about what she wanted to become a magical girl, nor why she appears in the story of the third film.
Madoka An ordinary girl who apparently has no special talents, whose life was turned upside down after the appearance of Homura and Kyubey. She begins to have doubts about becoming a Puella Magi after Mami's death although she continues to accompany Sayaka on the witch hunt.
Akiyuki Shinbo and Yukihiro Miyamoto are directing the third film at animation studio SHAFT with original character designs by manga creator Ume Aoki. Yuki Kajiura will provide the soundtrack, while musical units Claris and Kalafina will perform the film's opening theme "Colorful" and ending theme "Kimi no Gin no Niwa" (Your Garden Silver), respectively. The main cast will be returning from the television series along with the previous two films.

The third film will be shown in Japan on October 26th. The film will also be shown in the United States, Canada and France this winter. Aniplex announced at the JapanExpo event in Paris that the film will premiere in France on November 16, and intends to release the third film in other countries, as happened with the first two films.
