The official website for the anime 'NieR:Automata Ver 1.1a' revealed that it will resume broadcasting episodes 9-12 all at once on July 23rd.

Therefore, the anime premiered on January 7th. The team postponed episode 4 from January 28th to February 18th. The anime's production committee cited COVID-19 as the reason for this delay. In March, the team postponed episodes 9 and later, citing the impact of the increase in COVID-19 infections on their production schedule.

Synopsis

The narrative of NieR:Automata revolves around the androids 2B, 9S, and A2, who find themselves in a battle to reclaim a dystopia controlled by machines and infested with powerful mechanical entities. Humanity, in turn, has been banished from Earth by the mechanical beings from another world. In a last-ditch effort to reclaim the planet, the human resistance dispatches a team of android soldiers with the objective of annihilating the invaders. Thus, a continuous war between machines and androids unfolds, poised to reveal a long-forgotten truth about the world.

Therefore, the direction is by Ryouji Masuyama (Blend S, Hello WeGo!) at A-1 Pictures , CG by Yuusuke Noma, and cinematography by Toshiaki Aoshima. NieR:Automata was released for PlayStation 4 in Japan in 2017. Furthermore, Square Enix released the game on PC in March 2017 and on Xbox One in June 2018.
