The official website for the anime NieR:Automata Ver 1.1a announced this Sunday that episodes 9 and later have been postponed.

COVID-19 infections on its production schedule. The anime's website and Twitter account will announce broadcast schedules for episodes 9 and beyond in the near future.

The anime had previously delayed episodes 4 and beyond from January 28th to February 18th. Additionally, the anime's production committee also cited COVID-19 as the reason for this delay.

Synopsis

NieR:Automata tells the story of androids 2B, 9S, and A2 and their battle to reclaim the machine-run dystopia invaded by powerful machines. Humanity was then expelled from Earth by mechanical beings from another world. In a final effort to reclaim the planet, the human resistance sends a force of android soldiers to destroy the invaders. Now, a war between machines and androids rages on... A war that may soon reveal a long-forgotten truth of the world.

Finally, NieR:Automata was released for the PlayStation 4 in Japan in 2017. Furthermore, Square Enix launched the game on PC in March 2017 and on Xbox One in June 2018.
