Ninja Gaiden series is back. Koei Tecmo announced Ninja Gaiden 4 during the Xbox Developer Direct , confirming a fall 2025 release. Team Ninja is developing the game, maintaining the essence of the franchise, while Platinum Games is contributing its expertise on titles like Bayonetta and Nier: Automata .

The new adventure takes place years after Ninja Gaiden 3 and features a new protagonist, Yakumo, a ninja master with impressive abilities. However, fans of the franchise can rest assured: Ryu Hayabusa takes on a playable role at various points in the campaign.

Release and confirmed platforms

Ninja Gaiden 4 will be released for Xbox Series X|S , PlayStation 5 , and PC . On the Xbox ecosystem, the game will be available on Game Pass from day one and will support Play Anywhere, allowing players to play on both console and PC with shared progression. In addition to announcing the new title, Koei Tecmo also revealed a remaster of Ninja Gaiden 2 , called Ninja Gaiden 2 Black , which is now available on Xbox and Game Pass.
