With a story of revenge and bloodshed, the animated film follows a former member of a ninja clan who is haunted by the brutal murders of his family. Meanwhile, an FBI agent and his rookie partner also work to investigate the crimes and uncover an unprecedented global conspiracy.
Synopsis:
Joe Higan is a former ninja and fugitive living in rural America with his family to hide from his bloody past. However, a team of assassins from his former organization finds him and demands blood retribution for Joe's betrayal of their ancient code. Now, Joe has risen from his apparent "death" under his former assassin name, Ninja Kamui, to avenge his family and friends. Kamui is a 21st-century ninja and a shadowy being who uses his ancient, brutal skills against high-tech weaponry. Thus, he begins a battle against trained assassins, combat cyborgs, and rival ninjas to exterminate the clan that raised him.
The series is from director Sunghoo Park ('God of High School', 'Jujutsu Kaisen'), and production is handled by E&H production ('MONSTERS 103 Mercies Dragon Damnation') and SOLA ENTERTAINMENT ('Lord of The Rings: War of The Rohirrim', 'Blade Runner: Black Lotus').
Finally, episodes of the Ninja Kamui anime will also be available on the HBO Max streaming platform, starting February 11th.
