Nintendo announced today (August 28th) the new 3DS model, the Nintendo 2DS. Possibly a low-cost handheld console, it will be able to play all 3DS games and will also be backward compatible with the Nintendo 2DS game library .

The handheld will also come equipped with most of the 3DS's built-in software, such as Face Raiders and Find Mii.
Finally, it will also include a 4GB memory card. The device is scheduled to cost US$130 and is expected to be released on October 12th.
