Nintendo has confirmed that the next Indie World Showcase will take place on August 7, 2025. The broadcast will be dedicated to showcasing new indie games coming to the Nintendo Switch and possibly the console's successor, the Switch 2. Lasting about 15 minutes, the event promises to reveal long-awaited news and give visibility to promising titles in the indie scene.

The event should bring updates on highly anticipated games and possible surprise announcements.
Unlike the last Direct Partner Showcase, which focused on major titles from third-party studios, Indie World highlights smaller, creative creations from independent developers. This initiative has become an important showcase for innovative projects and alternative experiences in Nintendo's catalog.
This year, the event comes at a strategic time, with several indie games gaining popularity and anticipation. Titles like Hollow Knight: Silksong remain among the most sought-after, while productions like Sword of the Sea and Yooka-Replaylee also have a chance to appear with new trailers or release dates.

What to Expect from the August Indie World Showcase
As in previous editions, Nintendo usually keeps much of the event's attractions under wraps. Still, there's room for speculation and high expectations among fans. Titles like Slay the Spire 2, which is in development, could be optimized for handhelds, something that would please many players.
Another potential highlight is Hollow Knight: Silksong, whose absence from previous events continues to fuel theories and predictions. Therefore, the expectation is that at least one official update will be presented during the indie showcase.
Additionally, games like Sword of the Sea, from the creators of ABZÛ, have the potential to make their presence felt with a direct release on the Nintendo Switch, as has happened with other titles during previous editions of the event.
