Author Nisio Isin revealed on his Twitter that the book Shinomonogatari ( free translation: death story) Monogatari series will be released on August 19th in 2 volumes. Both volumes will conclude the “Monster Season” part of the story that follows protagonist Koyomi Araragi in college.
Monster Season arc began in 2017 in the book Shinobumonogatari . The fourth book in the arc, Ougimonogatari launched in October 2020. Shinomonogatari will be the fifth and sixth book.
The light novel features illustrations by Vofan and has been in publication since August 2005, with 25 volumes to date and having been published in Mephisto magazines between 2005 and 2006, Pandora in 2008 and Kodansha in 2013.
Furthermore, Monogatari received a manga adaptation in 2018, with Oh! Great illustrating the first arc of the novel, Bakemonogatari . Furthermore, the manga was published in Weekly Shonen Magazine in March 2018.
Between November 2006 and October 2020, Kodansha published 26 volumes of the series under its Kodansha Box imprint.
Synopsis
Bakemonogatari follows the story of Koyomi Araragi, a third-year high school student who is a “near-human” after briefly becoming a vampire. One day, a classmate named Hitagi Senjougahara, who never speaks to anyone, falls down the school stairs and into Koyomi's arms.
Finally, the Shaft adapted the work for anime. Furthermore, the first season featured the arcs Bakemonogatari, Nisemonogatari and Nekomogatari Black. The episodes aired between 2009 and 2012.
