The Traveler's journey in Genshin Impact is about to enter a new chapter with the arrival of Nod-Krai, a region that promises to change the course of history. Unlike anything players have encountered so far, the location is not under the influence of any Archon and holds mysteries capable of altering the balance of Teyvat. In addition to introducing new factions and characters, Nod-Krai should bring the heroes closer to the long-awaited confrontation against the Tsaritsa in Snezhnaya.

Marked by ancient forces and the dominance of the Fatui, Nod-Krai presents itself as a hostile territory, yet essential to the narrative of Genshin Impact. Between new enemies and unlikely alliances, the region presents challenges that promise to test the limits of both the Traveler and the players.

What makes Nod-Krai different from other regions

Nod-Krai is a unique land in Teyvat, known for being free from the control of the Archons. It was one of the first areas affected by the forces of the Abyss after the fall of Khaenri'ah, resulting in a strong abyssal presence to this day.

This dark energy manifests itself in the so-called Wild Hunt, a calamity composed of creatures even more powerful than those usual in the Abyss. To counter this threat, the Guardians of Light exist, though they are weakened by past battles.

The influence of Snezhnaya and the dominance of the Fatui

Nod-Krai's proximity to Snezhnaya isn't just geographical. The harsh climate and low temperatures are reminiscent of the hostility of Dragonspine in Mondstadt. Furthermore, the region is marked by the dominance of the Fatui, who built a fortress there under Dottore's leadership. Other generals, such as Columbina and Sandrone, are expected to play central roles in this new arc.

In particular, Columbina is among the most powerful characters ever seen and even Tartaglia and Scaramouche fear her.

Factions and cities of Nod-Krai

Despite its dangerous nature, Nod-Krai is inhabited by diverse factions vying for influence and power. Among them are the Fatui organization itself, the Wild Hunt, the Voynich Guild, the Guardians of Light, and the Children of the Frozen Moon, who worship Columbine.

The city of Nasha is already among the confirmed locations, as is Paha Island, home to the Fatui stronghold. NPCs have mentioned other regions, such as Hiisi Island and Lempo Island, but have yet to reveal details about them.

Expected characters and impact on the narrative

In addition to new playable characters, Nod-Krai is expected to bring back familiar characters, such as Varka, the Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius. His presence and that of others will be essential to tying up plot threads before the decisive encounter with the Tsaritsa.

Every faction, city, and character revealed so far suggests the plot will gain depth, setting the stage for the conclusion at Snezhnaya.

What to expect from the future of Genshin Impact

Nod-Krai marks a key chapter in Genshin Impact's narrative progression and goes far beyond being just a region to explore. The balance between factions, the secrets of the Abyss, and the involvement of the Fatui generals will create an intense, challenging, and unpredictable setting. Scheduled to arrive in version 6.0 in September, this new stage promises to be a turning point for HoYoverse's RPG.
