It was announced on the official website of Nisio Isin or NisiOisin, author of Monogatari , that another one of his novels would get an anime adaptation.

He wrote 9 volumes of the Zaregoto between 2002 and 2005 and 7 volumes of the spinoff Ningen between 2004 and 2010, both published by Kodansha . He describes the story as:
