It's official! Ben Affleck becomes the new Batman of the movies!

Warner Bros. has announced that Ben Affleck has been chosen to play the new Batman alongside Henry Cavill (Man of Steel) in the first production to bring the two DC Comics . He will play Bruce Wayne in the sequel to Man of Steel, a film that will pit Batman against Superman!

Still without a defined name, the new production will be the sequel to Man of Steel and will bring Batman and Superman together for the first time on the big screen, continuing the director's vision of his DC universe, established in “Man of Steel”.

The announcement was made today by Greg Silverman, President of Creative Development and Production, and Sue Kroll, President of Marketing and Distribution, Warner Bros.

The film is scheduled for release on July 17, 2015.
