According to Toho sources, it was announced that the next film from the famous studio Ghibli will be an adaptation of the novel “ Omoide no Marnie ” (When Marnie Was There) by Joan G. Robinson.
The work tells the story of young Anna, a girl alone with no friends, who, when traveling to the small village of Norfolk , meets a mysterious young woman called Marnie and they both end up becoming great friends, but there is something about Marnie that is linked to the story of Anna and that she herself doesn't even suspect.
The new film is scheduled to premiere in Japan only in the summer and will be directed by Hiromasa Yonebayashi (The Secret World of Arrietty).
