According to sources at Toho, it was revealed that the next film from the famous studio Ghibli will be an adaptation of the novel “ Omoide no Marnie ” (When Marnie Was There) by author Joan G. Robinson.
The work tells the story of young Anna, a lonely girl with no friends, who, when traveling to the small village of Norfolk , meets a mysterious young woman named Marnie and both will end up becoming great friends, but there is something about Marnie that is linked to Anna's story and that she herself does not even suspect.
The new film is scheduled to premiere in Japan only in the summer and will be directed by Hiromasa Yonebayashi (The Secret World of Arrietty).
