Omori RPG game will receive manga adaptation

The Twitter account for the independent game Omori , from developer Omocat, announced this Wednesday (23) that the game is being adapted into a manga by rising artist Nui Konoito, in Kodansha's Monthly Afternoon magazine. To celebrate the announcement, Konoito made an illustration.

Tweet translation: “Nui Konoito-san [此糸縫(このいとぬい)] will illustrate a manga adaptation of OMORI, which will be serialized in Kodansha's seinen magazine Monthly Afternoon. The manga aims to cater to both longtime fans of the game and a new audience experiencing the story for the first time.”

Synopsis

In the story, the player controls a boy named Sunny and his dream world alter ego Omori. Sunny and her friends, unique and charismatic characters, play and have picnics with her sister Mari in their dream world. How they interact depends on choices made by the player, resulting in one of several endings.

The game debuted in December 2020 on PC via Steam, and the Japanese version was released a year later. It was later also released on PlayStation 4, Xbox X|S and Nintendo Switch. Furthermore, the game has a fan base in Japan, with concert , stores and collaborations with Japanese brands
