Estridd later gave birth to Loki. However, frightened by the child's slitted eyes, she brutally rejected him, casting the baby into the depths of Elbaf's underworld.
Loki and the Adam Tree: Beginning of the Ascension?
The final scene is powerful : we see little Loki crawling in the shadows, surrounded by fallen beasts, trying to climb the Adam's Tree to return to the castle. This scene suggests both a tragic origin and a grand destiny for the future ruler.
The flashback offers a new perspective on giant society and why Loki can represent both danger and hope. After all, his birth is amidst forbidden love, rejection, and ancestral ambition.
