Fans were taken by surprise! One Piece anime adaptation will go on a six-month hiatus for the first time in its history.
The hiatus takes place on October 27, 2024, scheduled to return only in 2025. The main reason for this break is that the production team decided to focus on improving the quality of the animation, with the aim of offering a visual that is up to par. of the most recent episodes of the franchise.
During this hiatus period, the anime will broadcast the Fishman Island Arc , but this time in a remastered and improved version. Therefore, the new edition will significantly reduce the number of episodes, from 51 to just 21, eliminating filler chapters and providing a more dynamic experience that is faithful to the manga's story.
Ultimately this interruption is due to an effort to “improve its quality”, even with current episodes with exceptional direction and animation. Additionally, Jump Festa 2025, which will take place in December 2024, will reveal other details about the suspension.
