Fans were taken by surprise! The One Piece will be taking a six-month hiatus for the first time in its history.
The hiatus will take place on October 27, 2024, and is scheduled to return only in 2025. The main reason for this break is that the production team decided to focus on improving the quality of the animation, with the aim of offering a look that is on par with the most recent episodes of the franchise.
During this hiatus, the anime will air the Fishman Island Arc , but this time in a remastered and enhanced version. Therefore, the new edition will significantly reduce the number of episodes, from 51 to just 21, eliminating filler chapters and providing a more dynamic experience that is faithful to the manga's story.
Ultimately, this interruption is due to an effort to "improve its quality," even though current episodes boast exceptional direction and animation. Furthermore, Jump Festa 2025, which will take place in December 2024, will reveal further details about the suspension.
