One Piece manga has announced another significant hiatus before the end of the year. The series is currently in the midst of a historic anime hiatus, suspending the series for six months for the first time in two decades.

After returning with a new chapter 1132 published in the latest issue of Weekly Shonen Jump , One Piece will once again go on hiatus after the release of chapter 1133 , scheduled for Sunday, December 8, 2024 (December 9 in Japan). The next chapter, 1134, is expected to be published on December 15, 2024. Thus, the manga will continue at a biweekly pace until the end of 2024.

Chapter 1133 will mark the beginning of the Elbaf Arc, where Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates finally reach the legendary island of giants. This journey has been awaited by fans for over two decades, ever since Elbaf's existence was mentioned in the Little Garden Arc. Luffy and Usopp, who have always dreamed of exploring the home of the giant warriors, now face great expectations regarding their roles in this new arc.

Eiichiro Oda Deserves a Rest

While fans may have to wait longer for the next chapters, what really matters is Eiichiro Oda's health. Manga creators face grueling schedules, which can take a toll on their physical condition. Recent reports indicate that many manga artists have been facing health issues due to the intense pressure of the industry.

Ultimately, Oda's rest is essential to his health and creativity. Fans want the creator to take care of himself, prioritizing his well-being above all else, because without him, One Piece wouldn't be the phenomenon it is today.
